Holistic Counsel and Mala Yoga invite you to a week in paradise... April 12-19th, 2008

Join Felicia Desrosiers and JoseLo Gutierrez of Holistic Counsel and Christina Hatgis of Mala Yoga for a glorious week on the Southwestern coast of Costa Rica at Mar y Selva.

Mar y Selva is set in the rainforest on a high hill overlooking Bahia Ballena – the bay where whales come to have their babies.  The howler monkeys wake early, toucans, macaws abound, the insects are gorgeous, the stars are amazing.  

PRICE:

$1,650 per person, double occupancy.

$1,550 per person, if you sign up with a friend. Includes accommodation, three meals a day, yoga classes, all excursions and taxi to and from San Jose. 

Deposit of $500 due on March 15th.

If full payment made by March 15th, a discount of 10% applies.  Full payment must be received no later than March 30th.   

Visa/Mastercard, cash and checks accepted. 

The retreat will be open to twenty people.

Your hosts for your Tropical Yoga Retreat: 

Felicia Desrosiers

Felicia, Holistic Health Counselor Certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, received certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in NYC.  Founder and director of Holistic Counsel, Felicia takes a passionate interest in improving the health, nutrition and general well being of people from all walks of life.  She enjoys educating, supporting and inspiring people in her health practice, to see how food affects everything in your life from moods, to aches and pains, allergies and relationships, and how to make shifts that create sustainable health and balance.  Felicia has had a daily yoga practice since 2002, inspired mostly by the Anusara Yoga tradition.  She also led a Cost Rica yoga retreat in 2005.  Felicia will be leading the evening restorative classes.    

JoseLo Gutierrez

JoseLo is an acupuncture student and has been working as a massage therapist since 1998.  Throughout the years he has incorporated different techniques to his practice in a variety of settings to include spas, clinics, massage schools, health clubs, hotels and embassies.  He studied massage therapy at AKS massage school in Herndon, VA and studied Thai massage at the Kata Institute in Phuket, Thailand.  He has practiced in Colombia, Ecuador, Taiwan, Thailand, and here in the United States.  He combines his knowledge of Swedish, Shiatsu, Tuina, acupressure and Thai massage techniques to best suit the needs of his clients.  His work as a massage therapist stems from as understanding of the capacity of the human body to re-center itself, and his style reflects an appreciation for the healing and balancing properties of the ancient practice of massage.  He is fluent in English and Spanish.   

Christina Hatgis

Christina, co-director of Mala Yoga, discovered Yoga in 1989 when she was traveling in India and was introduced to the Bhagavad Gita and Indian philosophy.  Her asana practice began in earnest in 1996 and she returned to India in 1998 to study intensively for eight months.  Students enjoy her relaxed, compassionate, and insightful teaching that has evolved from extensive study of the Asthanga Vinyasa, Om Yoga, and Anusara Yoga traditions.  Thank you to Eddie Stern, Derek Ireland, Cyndi Lee, and Amy Ippoliti for guiding, encouraging, and inspiring.  She is most grateful to her children, Julian and Marina, for providing the most beautiful, challenging, and rewarding practice of all.  Christina will be leading the 2 hour morning classes.
